Perfectly Frank

Wiltshire Music Centre, Bradford on Avon

Another of Mike's infamous collaborations bringing Cantamus together with WMC Chorus and GBH Big Band with songs made famous by ol’ Blues Eyes including Fly Me to the Moon, I’ve Got You Under My skin, Strangers in the Night, My Way and an opportunity for the audience to sing along with Nelson Riddle's version of Blue Moon. Legendary singer and guitarist Denny Ilett joins the party to lend an extra touch of class to the afternoon.

Bernstein Chichester Psalms

Holy Trinity Church, Bradford on Avon

A concert where hope springs eternal with music for choir, organ, harp and percussion by English and American composers. Leonard Bernstein’s magnificent Chichester Psalms, written for the choirs of Chichester, Winchester and Salisbury Cathedrals is tuneful, tonal and contemporary, featuring dancing rhythms and glorious melodies with “a hint of West Side Story about the music”. Fellow American Randall Thompson’s uplifting, dramatic and harmonically lush Alleluia will leave the listener in a state of exultation. The Miracle of the Spring for choir and percussion by Bob Chilcott explores the life giving properties of water with his typical zest and accessibility hard to resist and A Fancy of Folksongs, written for harp and choir sets four well known folk songs, each given a contemporary, irresistibly playful feel by Cecilia McDowall.

Organist Steven Hollas is joined by harpist Ruth Kenyon and Countertenor soloist Stephen Harvey, lay clerk at Wells Cathedral. Tea and cake will be available.

A Cantamus Christmas

Holy Trinity Church, Bradford on Avon

An evening of evocative music and readings for Advent and Christmas including carols to join in. New carol settings by Cecelia McDowell and Lucy Walker join Otto Goldchmidt's A tender shoot, O Magnum Mysterium by Morton Lauridsen, a selection of reflective readings and joyful seasonal carols for a typically Cantamus Christmas. Bar open from 6.30 and during interval.

14th October 7.30pm in Cheltenham and 15th October 4pm in Bradford an Avon. Gorgeous choral music from the combined voices of Cantores and Cantamus Chamber choirs featuring a fabulous selection of works by Byrd, Howells, Stanford, Jonathan Dove and Bob Chilcott.


Another thrilling collaboration from Mike Daniels featuring GBH BIg Band, Cantamus Chamber Choir, WMC Chorus and incredible jazz vocalist in a wonderful reworking of Gershwin tunes including I Got Rhythm and Summertime, culminating in Fascinating Rhythm. There’s a boat that’s leaving soon and it ain’t necessarily one you’ll want to miss!

Evocative settings of Shakespeare and gems of English music including Vaughan Williams, Parry, Britten, Dove, Chilcott and Tabakova, featuring Cantamus Chamber Choir, conducted by Mike Daniels with organist, Steven Hollas. Gloria - Cantamus Chamber Choir

Cantamus celebrates 20 years with director Mike Daniels, in an ambitious programme of 19th century pieces including Haydn’s glorious last mass and the exquisite Alto Rhapsody with soloist Marie Elliott, men’s chorus and orchestra. Peter Kirk, choir alumnus and successful operatic tenor, returns to sing solo.

Silver Swan - Cantamus Spring Concert

Orland Gibbons' stunning madrigal The Silver Swan inspired the title for Cantamus' Spring concert with choral music based on a theme of birds and flowers. And a treat is in store with a piano trio performed by Trefoil : Steven Hollas - piano, Moira Alabaster - violin and Xander Baker - cello. Join us for a pre-concert drink in our pop up bar, open from 6.30pm.

Duke Ellington's Sacred Concert

Soulful Messiah director returns with a swinging family feast

Mike Daniels cooks up a sumptuous programme of Duke Ellington's legendary Sacred Concert, showcasing GBH Bing Band, featuring international jazz vocalist Tina May and the massed voices of local choirs.

Powerful swing, stunning jazz vocals, soulful choral singing and a show-stopping tap dance combine in this Sunday afternoon treat.

Christmas Concert - What Sweeter Music

Soulful Messiah: A Celebration

Cantamus will be singing as part of the Soul Celebration Community Choir in this incredible contemporary reinterpretation of Handel’s Messiah, inspired by the spectacular 1992 album Handel's Messiah: A Soulful Celebration.

Directed by Mike Daniels With Black Voices, Town Hall Gospel Choir, Veritas Orchestra and the Soul Celebration Community Choir

Cantamus Chamber Choir is a Wiltshire based amateur choir led by Michael Daniels. Cantamus regularly performs a wide range of chamber music and occasionally larger works often with other local and national groups. The choir holds concerts throughout the year in the Bradford on Avon region.
