Cantamus Chamber Choir with the Nick Malcolm Jazz Quintet and the Eberle String Quartet

A very exciting concert for this autumn. Will Todd's Mass in Blue has been wowing audiences around the world with a setting of the mass with an infectious mix of jazz and blues.

Soprano Lorna James (pictured below) has just been confirmed as soloist for this concert on the strength of a performance in Warwick recently. She is a rising star in the world of opera having performed with Opera North but showed a fabulous versatility gliding effortlessly above the choir and orchestra around Will Todd's wonderfully idiomatic writing.

The rest of the concert will feature the Nick Malcolm Jazz Quintet - the most exciting of Bristol's jazz musicians - performing their own work and Themes from French Cinema by Dominic Alldis with Simon Marsh on soprano and tenor saxophone plus the Eberle String Quartet. Expect high quality jazz and beautiful arrangements.

STOP PRESS!! IAIN BALLAMY GUEST SAXOPHONE

Iain will be playing 4 Themes from French Cinema, arranged by Dominic Aldiss including Autumn Leaves, Dance with Me, under Paris skies and What's the weather like in Paris. The strings and piano trio accompaniments are utterly delightful to complement the internationally renowned skills of Iain Ballamy.

Tickets £15 and £10 for Under 18s and students
